Painting With Light
One of the photos I took with painting with light was by illuminating my face and having someone else with a light source behind me. The shutter speed we set the camera to was 15 seconds. To achieve the effect, we spun the string lights around or created patterns or words with the finger lights. The photo illuminating my face might feel a little creepy at first but it is also fun with the crazy combination of light in the background.
Motion in School
For the picture of me jumping, we used a shutter speed of 1/160. We froze the action of me jumping off a rock. To take the photo, someone stood about 10 feet away and pointed straight ahead at me. You can get the texture of the rocks under my feet, the negative space between my legs and also the texture of the trees and plants in the back. For slow shutter speed, the picture of my face blurred we had a shutter speed of 15 seconds. The image shows motion because we were testing the shutter and I was walking out of the frame and it captured my motion. You can get the negative space behind me of the curtain on the stage and the strong color of my black sweatshirt makes a good contrast to the white curtain.

Depth of Field
The Typewriter Series
Aperture Outside of School
For f-stop I used 5.6. I used an ISO of 200 and a white balance with warm white. For large depth of field I used the same f-stop, white balance and ISO. The best photo I took was the photo of the typewriter keys zoomed in (first photo in the typewriter series). It is edited nicely and is interesting to look at. I would want to use shallow depth of field to highlight the details of something. I would use large depth of field in order to get everything in focus, or to showcase a large picture.
Shadow & Reflection (In School)
I took the picture midday while in class. I used an old classroom skeleton and shot the shadow that his ribcage made on the whiteboard. I used an ISO of 400 and the white balance was set to incandescent.
The photo I took was of an old classroom skeleton positioned in front of a large piece of white paper in front of a whiteboard. I directed the light towards his ribcage to get the shadow of it against the paper.
I used a typical light to cast a shadow.
There is positive and negative space in between his ribs and around his teeth.
I have pattern and texture, line and shape incorporated into this photo. There is the pattern of his ribs, the texture of his bones, and the lines of his bones.
The shadow creates an eerie vibe that is complimented by the black and white of the photo. The duplicated face also adds a ghostly vibe to the photo.
